Northeast Ohio Daylily Society

MCDS gift basket for National Convention

The Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society (MCDS) is hosting the AHS National Convention, July 11-14, 2012. It promises to be a terrific program, and online registration is already open (www.columbusdaylilies.org). This national event will call positive attention to Region 2, and we would like the entire region to share in this rare and special occasion.

To make the Convention a financial success, we are planning an exciting raffle with a wide selection of interesting items. Gift baskets will be a part of our raffle program, and we would like to invite each daylily club in Region 2 to participate by donating a basket.

Ideally, each basket will offer a variety of items. They could be part of a specific theme (sports teams, regional food and wine specialties, garden ideas, birding, etc.), or they could be an assembly of items collected from members of each club. The goal is to have a minimum retail value for each basket of $300. The club whose basket generates the most income from the sale of raffle tickets will be awarded a special prize at the closing banquet on Saturday night.

Completed baskets should be tied up with cellophane and ribbon to protect the contents. The baskets, along with a list of included items and estimated retail value, should be delivered to the Convention Hotel (Marriott Columbus Airport) on Wednesday, July 11.

We wanted to get this notice to you before your club’s fall meeting, so that you can present the request and be able to respond back to us with a commitment for a basket and your basket theme prior to the end of the year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (614) 565-8470, or you may e-mail us at the following address: rac686cmh@gmail.com

Many, many thanks for your consideration. We look forward to your participation and to seeing you in Columbus next July!

Sincerely,

Bob and Susan Cochran
